Cannabis Infused Oil Recipe

A potent and effective option for treating chronic pain, stress, and sleeplessness

I've been helping patients with cannabis medicine for over 20 years and I’ve found that infused oils are one of the most effective and easy-to-make home remedies.

Cannabis Infused Oil Recipe
This recipe makes a potent infused olive oil made with dried cannabis flower.

Yields: Approximately 1 L
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 3-4 hours
Ingredients:
* 2 oz dried cannabis flower
* 1 L organic olive oil

Equipment:
* Heated stirrer, pot, or a crock-pot
* Whisk for stirring if cooking on the stove
* Large jars for storage (amber or dark-colored are best for preserving potency)
* Pourover cone with paper filters
* Scale

Instructions:
* Freeze 2 ounces of dry cannabis flower for 24 hours then break it up. Don’t crush it too finely or it will settle to the bottom and burn easily.

* I use a heater/mixer set to 105°C and cook for 3-4 hours, but you can make this on the stove top by heating over low heat and stirring constantly for 3-4 hours. You can also use a crockpot set on low, cook for up to 24 hours.

* Strain the oil VERY CAREFULLY while it’s still hot, using thick gloves and protective clothing. I found the best effect comes from straining as finely as possible so I strain through a coffee filter.

* Note: In this recipe I use olive oil, I have used MCT coconut oil in the past as well. The olive oil is thicker and a little more dense in recipes than the MCT (brownies are chewier), but it has a fantastic flavor and effect, with lots of health benefits.

* Cool and set: Leave the jars open and allow the oil to cool completely at room temperature. This can take a few hours.

Storage and Shelf Life:
* Store in dark glass in a cool dark place and it will last a year or more.

Uses

Orally:

* Sleeplessness

* Chronic pain

* Stress

Topically:

* Muscle soreness and aches

* Joint pain and inflammation

I hope this recipe brings you some relief from your symptoms. I look forward to hearing your feedback!
