Something you should know about me: I’ve been growing cannabis for 23 years and I have degenerative disc disease. (I guess that's two things...)
I’ve had to adapt my growing style the last few years to make it easier, eliminating extra work loads, and modifying my environment so I’m not hunched over plants as much.
That’s part of the reason I had to get rid of my Thai A5 plants recently, I grew them too big for my space and was literally having to crawl underneath the canopy to access the plants. I've done plenty of guerilla growing in my life, but these days, my body is telling me no more crawling around under plants. And I'm listening.
Here are some of the modifications I’ve made to my growing style to reduce strain:
• I grow from seed as opposed to clones to minimize the amount of steps to flowering.
• I generally grow in 3 gallon pots so that I have less dirt to move around.
• I use a drip irrigation system so that I don’t have to hand water and carry water about.
• I try to grow the canopy up to the right height for me so that I can maintain the plants without having to bend over so much.
There are other little tweaks I’ve made here and there to streamline the process and make everything easier. I’ll share more about it in the future.
What are some ways that you’ve introduced to make your growing easier?
